This build is designed for the Iron Horse raid, specifically for the 2nd boss, Captain Fieser. A tank is a must-have to complete this boss. This isn’t a full raid guide, just the build we use for it. There are multiple ways to create a tank build; this one simply works best for us.

How Armor Regen Works
Armor Regen Percentage-Based
Some gear sets and brand sets provide Armor Regen bonuses based on percentages. For example, the Gila Guard set offers a 2% Armor Regen as its 3rd set bonus. Empress Guard kneepads provide a 1% Armor Regen attribute, and Belstone Armory gives a 1% Armor Regen as its 1st set bonus. These percentage-based Armor Regen bonuses scale with your total armor. The more armor you have in your build, the more Armor Regen you'll get.
Armor Regen Attributes
Armor Regen attributes, such as +4,925 HP/s, are added directly to your gear. These attributes don't scale with your total armor; they simply provide a fixed amount of regeneration. If you add +4,925 HP/s to each of your 6 gear pieces, you'll get a total of 29,550 Armor Regen, no matter what your total armor is or whether you have a red, blue, yellow, or hybrid build.
Gear
Gila Guard: High-End
We are using the full Gila Guard brand set to unlock 5% Total Armor and 2% Armor Regen, which is why we choose this set. Gila Guard provides the highest Armor Regen. While the exotic Memento backpack can give 3% Armor Regen, in a raid, you need consistent armor regen. The Memento requires stacks to be effective.
Belstone Armory: High-End
We use Belstone Armory for the first set bonus, which provides 1% Armor Regen. This gives us a total of 4.5% Armor Regen, which scales with our total armor, resulting in 90K armor regen from these set bonuses alone. On top of that, we get an additional 29K from Armor Regen attributes, bringing our total armor regen to 120K.
Dodge City Gunslinger's Holster: Exotic
The Dodge City Gunslinger's Holster is perfect for this tank build because we lack damage due to having 5 blue cores. When fully stacked, this holster provides 1000% weapon damage, which, if you do the math, allows you to one-shot the glowing bag. This holster doesn’t offer any other benefits, just the added weapon damage.
Emperor’s Guard: Named Kneepads
Emperor’s Guard knee pads from Murakami Industries are the only viable option since we’re already taking advantage of the Belstone Armory and Gila Guard sets. The Emperor’s Guard knee pads also come with the unique attribute of 1% armor regen.
Weapons options
The Ravenous: Exotic Rifle
This is an exclusive weapon that drops in the Iron Horse Raid. Overall, it's not the best weapon, but we use it for its talent because it grants bonus armor and allows us to tank Captain Fieser. This makes the entire boss fight easier, but it is not required. However, you will need to play smarter without it. You can use this weapon with both configurations.
Weapon Talent |
---|
On trigger-pull, fire both barrels at once. When fired from the right shoulder, hits add offensive primers, and defensive primers when fired from the left shoulder. Hits from one shoulder will detonate all of the opposite shoulder's primers when present. When detonated or affected enemy is killed, each offensive primer deals 100% weapon damage, while each defensive primer grants +4% bonus armor and +10% amplified damage to armor plates for 5s. Primer effectiveness is doubled at 10 stacks. |
The Harvest: Named Pistol
The Harvest is a pistol variant of the Police 686 Magnum and has a base damage of 256K, making it the second-highest damage among high-end pistols. If you're having trouble farming for The Harvest, you can use the normal version instead. High damage is crucial because the goal is to one-shot the glowing bag. If you fail, you will wipe, and the Reviver Hive may not be able to pick you up. The talent on the pistol doesn't matter; you can use whatever you prefer. Just make sure to add 10% damage to target of your cover as the second attribute for extra damage.

Specialization
Demolitionist
We use the Demolitionist specialization to unlock the Incombustible talent, which provides 20% burn resistance. This is the only reason we choose this specialization.
Skills
It is possible to die during the Captain Fieser fight, so it is highly recommended to equip the Reviver Hive for self-revival and a shield to activate the Perfect Vanguard talent, which gives you and your team bonus armor.
