This build is designed for the last boss in the Iron Horse raid. As a Stagger Tank, your main responsibility is to manage Colonel Morozova and keep aggro on you at all times. This allows your team to focus on dealing with the train. There are three main tasks you need to perform as the Stagger Tank:

  • Maintain Aggro: You must keep aggro on Colonel Morozova at all times. If you lose aggro, use the EMP Sticky to regain it immediately.

  • Provide Bonus Armor: You give your team 80% of your armor as bonus armor, which helps keep them alive during the fight.

  • Prevent Rocket Fire: You need to prevent Colonel Morozova from firing rockets, as this makes the raid much harder for your team.

A person in gear stands next to a large cannon firing into a dramatic, sunlit sky. Sandbags and debris surround the futuristic scene.

Main features

  • 2.4 Million Total Armor

  • 70% Explosive Resistance

Gear

Aegis: Gear Set

The main objective of this build is to maximize your armor. To achieve this, we use three pieces of the Aegis Gear Set to unlock the 15% total armor set bonus. This significant increase in armor helps you tank effectively and support your team during the raid.

Tardigrade Armor System: Exotic

In the last boss fight of the Iron Horse raid, we use two tanks:

  • Stagger Tank (this build).

  • Key Tank.

Both tanks are crucial for the raid. One tank uses the Pointman Chest while the other uses the Tardigrade Armor System. Together, they provide bonus armor and keep the team alive.

The Tardigrade Armor System has a talent that provides 80% of your armor as bonus armor to you or an ally when their armor breaks. This bonus armor lasts for 10 seconds, and the cooldown is 45 seconds per ally.

Gila Guard: High-End

We use Gila Guard mainly for the 5% total armor set bonus, we also added Protector Talent on backpack to that allows us to give 15% of our armor when our shield get hit.

Uzina Getica: High-End

We use Uzina Getica mainly for the 5% total armor set bonus.

Weapons Options

You need to Stagger the boss just before she launches the rockets. The best option for this is using the exotic weapon, The Ravenous, as it helps stagger the boss effectively. If you don't have The Ravenous yet, we recommend waiting to use this build until you have it.

Specialization

Demolitionist

Specialization doesn't matter much for this build, but we recommend using Demolitionist. The Braced for Impact talent allows you to ignore explosions every 60 seconds, which can be very helpful during the fight.

Skills

As a tank, you must have the Bulwark Ballistic Shield when you move to the middle. Your shield needs to be strong, which is why we use 6 blue cores to increase your armor and strengthen the shield. This setup also ensures you won’t die when you have aggro from the boss. Additionally, we’ve added the Protector Talent on the backpack, making the shield essential for this build.

The second skill must be EMP Sticky. If you lose aggro, you can shoot the EMP Sticky at the boss without detonating it. This will allow you to regain aggro. If you don’t have EMP Sticky, you’ll need to complete the Jupiter Manhunt mission from the Legacy Manhunt to unlock it.
