Standard armor regen build for solo players

Updated: 6 days ago

Maximize survivability and damage with an armor regeneration build ideal for solo heroic content, challenging missions, Dark Zone farming, and speed running activities.

Main features

  • 80K Base Armor Regen, 141K Armor Regen when fully Stacked Memento.

  • 200K Armor on Kill

  • 200K Bonus Armor for each Memento trophy.

  • 2 M Total Armor

How Armor Regen Works

Armor Regen Percentage-Based

Some gear sets and brand sets provide Armor Regen bonuses based on percentages. For example, the Gila Guard set offers a 2% Armor Regen as its 3rd set bonus. Empress Guard kneepads provide a 1% Armor Regen attribute, and Belstone Armory gives a 1% Armor Regen as its 1st set bonus. These percentage-based Armor Regen bonuses scale with your total armor. The more armor you have in your build, the more Armor Regen you'll get.

Armor Regen Attributes

Armor Regen attributes, such as +4,925 HP/s, are added directly to your gear. These attributes don't scale with your total armor; they simply provide a fixed amount of regeneration. If you add +4,925 HP/s to each of your 6 gear pieces, you'll get a total of 29,550 Armor Regen, no matter what your total armor is or whether you have a red, blue, yellow, or hybrid build.

Gear

Memento: Exotic

To get the Exotic backpack, focus on targeted loot for backpacks and open exotic caches.

The backpack provides all 3 core attributes: Weapon Damage, Armor, and Skill Tier, but has no attributes—only a gear mod. Its talent is especially useful for solo players and this specific build.

As you kill enemies, they drop trophies. Once you've collected enough trophies, you'll gain long-term buffs: 30% Weapon Damage, 30% Skill Efficiency, and 3% Armor Regen. These buffs last for 5 minutes. During this time, you need to keep killing and collecting trophies to reset the timer and maintain the buffs.

Gila Guard Set

We're using the full Gila Guard set to unlock the third set bonus of 2% armor regeneration.

Chillout: High-End Named

The Chillout mask is only available during holiday events. If you don't have it, you can use the standard Gila Guard mask until the event starts. The Chillout mask allows you to equip 3 gear mods but comes with only a single attribute.

Other Gear

Belstone Armory: High-End

We only using them to unlock 1st set bonus 1% armor regeneration on Belstone Armory.

Emperor's Guard: High-End Named

We're only using them to get the unique attribute of 1% armor regeneration. These knee pads are from the Murakami Industries brand set, which has a less useful first set bonus of 15% skill duration, but the attributes are what you need.

Weapons options

These two weapons are evenly matched, but you are free to use any weapon of your choice. These are just the most recommended options.

Ouroboros

The Exotic SMG can be farmed in Lost Paradise.

Ouroboros is most effective when paired with this specific build, boasting a high RPM of 1466 when the third attribute is a 5% Rate of Fire. This allows it to fire rapidly and compensate for any damage reduction from blue Core attributes. The weapon has a base damage of 38.3K and a magazine size of 50.

Dark Winter

Dark Winter is PVP exclusive item. You need to play Conflict or farm in Dark Zone. You can craft Dark Winter if you get blueprint from Descent.

The Dark Winter is a named weapon equipped with the Perfect Killer talent, providing a 90% increase in critical hit damage for 10 seconds after each kill. It shares the same magazine size as the Ouroboros when the third attribute is a 12.5% Magazine size and the weapon mod is an Oversized .45 ACP Mag. In terms of base damage they are same at 38.3K

Specialization

Gunner

I chose the Gunner Specialization because it offers perks that complement this build effectively, enhancing both damage output and survivability. The Gunner specialization includes the Barrage talent, which increases the rate of fire by 5% for 5 seconds after each kill. Another valuable perk is the Incessant talent, providing a 10% armor bonus upon each kill. You also need Spray and Pray talent to get 15% Submachine Gun Damage.

Firewall

Should you prefer utilizing a shield for added defence, opt for the Firewall Specialization. This specialization includes the Striker Shield skill, which increases damage by 6% for every enemy positioned in front of your shield. For instance, if there are 3 enemies in front of the shield, you will receive an 18% weapon damage boost. You also need Spray and Pray talent to get 15% Submachine Gun Damage.

The importance of having a 999 SHD level and high expertise is crucial for this build

By focusing on blue core attributes in this build, we aim to achieve high armor regeneration, albeit at the cost of reduced overall damage output. Compensating for this trade-off, it is crucial to prioritize watch levels and expertise level on a weapon, as they help offset the damage deficiency resulting from our attribute choices.

In Year 6 Season 2, the maximum Expertise level is 27, allowing you to allocate 27% to base weapon damage and increase base armor value by 27% on each piece of gear.

If you have 0% expertise on all six gear pieces, you can gain an additional 178K armor by upgrading all to 27%.

Skills

If you are utilizing a Firewall Specialization, consider selecting the Stricker Ballistic Shield. This shield provides a substantial health pool of 4.6 million and boosts your damage by 7% for each enemy located in front of your shield.

If you are using the Gunner Specialization, opt for the Crusader Ballistic Shield. It offers the same amount of health but focuses on providing only protection.

The second skill doesn't really matter; you can use whatever you prefer based on your playstyle and strategy.
